Welcome to the Wood Information Page

Any of our cabinets can be constructed from any of the woods on this page.  Keep in mind that changing a wood type will adjust the price of the cabinet based on our costs for the wood.  Typically it is not a large difference except in the case of the exotic woods.  In all cases if you would like pricing on different woods for a cabinet either email us, call us, or submit a "Customize It Form" associated with each product and we will get you the updated price.  We would also be happy to assist you in determining which stain and wood you would like.  Don't hesitate to contact us.
OAK: Oak is the most popular wood used in our cabinets.  It is the most cost effective and it is the most versatile as far as stain availability.  You can go to our galleries and see examples of oak cabinets and also go the stains link below and check out all the stains that are available.
CHERRY: Cherry wood gives you a very rich and smooth finish to your cabinets.  We go with the Red Mahogany Stain or the Natural Cherry Stain with this wood.  The Red Mahogany stain is the dark red stain most people are familiar with.  Click on Cherry Stains link below and see the two stains used on display cabinets.
WALNUT: Walnut is a beautiful, grainy dark wood.  Extremely smooth in it's finish and texture.  We like to use the Early American stain on it to bring out the natural colors and protect the finish for the long run..  We can also simply seal it and lacquer over the Walnut for a true natural finish.  There is not much difference in color, however, we recommend putting the stain on.  Click on the Wood Sample link for photo of a Walnut display cabinet.
MAPLE: Maple is a very light colored wood.  It can take a variety of stains, however, we do not have a good stain chart to share with you for Maple.  We like it's Natural state and there are a few photos for you to look at in the Wood Sample link.  If you would like to have it stained - we would want to send you samples to confirm your choice before purchase and work with you on the stain decision.
MAHOGANY:  Mahogany is a soft porous wood that is very red in it's natural state.  We like to use the Red Mahogany stain to bring out the true color of the wood.  Click on the Wood Sample link for photo of this wood.
CURLY MAPLE: A very unique and quite beautiful wood.  It produces a shimmering effect when finished.  On the Wood Samples link we have a picture of the Curly Maple used in a display case for you to reference.
ASH and POPLAR:  These are less commonly used woods for display cabinets.  We would need to work with you on stain samples for these woods before purchase.
EXOTIC'S - TIGER WOOD, ZEBRA WOOD, PURPLE HEART, CURLY CHERRY :  These are just a few of the exotic's available.  Sample photos of the woods are shown on the Wood Samples Page.  We can get many type of exotic's, so if there is one in particular you are looking for, let us know.
